Simply Moving and Sleeping was founded in 2012 by John Kershaw. The focus of the business was to create an efficient service and repair package for local customers. The hand logo is the handprint of John’s daughter, Charlotte. The logo symbolises a caring hand and this caring approach is something Simply maintain throughout every aspect of their work.
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission and goal is to provide a first-class service to our customers and our suppliers. We have a wealth of experience in supplying, installing, servicing and assessing for moving and handling equipment. Simply prides itself on working closely with our customers, offering support, adding value and remaining flexible, in order to accomplish an excellent working partnership. Teamwork is the key to our success - we are small enough to care, big enough to cope.
We provide our services in Yorkshire, the North West and the North East. Our aim is to focus within these localities to ensure we continually provide a high quality, personal service, with a prompt response time when our customers need it most.
OUR JOURNEY
Over the years the business has grown, allowing us to not only maintain products, but also to be involved in supplying the highest quality products in the market. Simply are proud to be partnered with Danish based hoist manufacturer, Guldmann. Working closely with both Guldmann and our customers is the key to introducing new and innovative products, configuring unique solutions, to ensure that each of our customers receives a complete solution designed to match their exact needs.
In August 2022 Simply Head Office and Training Room relocated from Cragg Vale to the Print Mill in Elland in order to expand into a bigger working space with a fully equipped training room.
Following on from steady and successful growth and expansion of the business, 2025 has seen Simply proudly open a second site – Simply Peterlee in the North East. Positioning Simply as a key service provider in the North East and North Yorkshire as well as the North West and our home county Yorkshire.
Simply is currently the largest GULDMANN REGISTERED dealer in the UK specialising in Guldmann hoisting and also Ropox bathroom adaptations. Supplying to local authorities, NHS, schools and the private sector across the North. Working closely with healthcare professionals to provide person-centred solutions we’re here to offer Simply reliable advice, assessments, quotes, installation, training and after sales equipment servicing.
SIMPLY ELLAND
In August 2022 Simply re-located our Head Office and Training Room from our site at Cragg Vale to The Print Mill in Elland. The building is an old wool mill dating back to 1859. The mill had been signposted for demolition, but we believed that the mill was a local landmark and a building of historical importance. We took on the essential repairs to bring the mill back to life, including the creation of a bespoke, custom-built training room. We have incorporated solar panels into the new mill roof, renovated the car park fitting EV changing points and developed a green space cared for by staff to encourage biodiversity & wellbeing.
SIMPLY PETERLEE
In April 2025 Simply opened a second Office and Training Room in Peterlee, Durham. The unit is ideally situated to cover the North East and North Yorkshire. Similar to the Elland site, Peterlee hosts a bespoke, custom-built training room and fully equipped warehouse and service base.
SIMPLY GROWING GREENER
Simply are fully committed to ensuring the protection of the environment and the prevention of pollution. In our mission to ‘go green’ we have added 6 electric service vans and three electric sales vehicles. We will continue to replace our diesel vehicles with electric vehicles. We have reduced our carbon dioxide emissions by 166 grams per kilometre travelled for every diesel vehicle replaced.
We’ve opted for renewable energy by installing solar panels to the entire south facing side of our head office roof. The solar panels power our building and charge the electric vans and a total of 109,262 greener miles were driven in 2024.
We were really pleased to be recognised for our efforts in going greener by being awarded the NBE Sustainability Award in 2024.
