Simply fantastic to attend the official opening of Radcliffe Primary Care Centre’s Stroke & Neuro Rehabilitation Gym in Bury on 24th June. A celebration of the significant achievement of the inspirational fundraiser David Hiscott , along with the NHS NorthCare Charity and Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust Stroke & Neuro Rehab Team who made this facility happen.
After suffering a stroke at a relatively young age and going through his own long and difficult journey to recovery, David identified a need in the local community for a better Neuro Rehabilitation facility & state of the art equipment to allow better recovery outcomes for others in his situation.
Over the period of 5 years David & the team raised over £37,000 for this facility and all the equipment. This fabulous new gym room is now fully kitted out with a Guldmann GH3+ Hoist with full Trainer Unit and variety of Guldmann slings, as well as other rehab equipment - giving patients and staff endless possibilities for rehabilitation exercises and physiotherapy in the community.
We thoroughly enjoyed hearing about the impact this facility will have for patients & their recovery outcomes in Bury & seeing the enthusiasm and eagerness sparked in all the fantastic staff, David & his family & other patients who came for the opening.
